SURAT: A before the results of Gujarat assembly election were announced, AAP got a reason to celebrate on Wednesday the party's victory in another election - the election to Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). AAP leaders and workers celebrated the party's victory in Delhi's civic body by bursting crackers, dancing to the beats of drums and distributing sweets.

The celebration was organised in Katargam area, outside the AAP's central office of Surat North assembly constituency. Party workers from other parts of the city assembled at the spot with dhols and sweets.

AAP leaders said their party will become a national political party by getting 20 per cent vote share in Gujarat assembly election.

"We are the country's smallest political party that has defeated the world's biggest political party in the MCD election. The MCD results have proved that people trust AAP that only we can give a fight to BJP," said Gopal Italia, AAP Gujarat convener.

"AAP is going to get 20 per cent vote share in Gujarat and will get the status of a national political party. It is a matter of pride that AAP is being accepted across the country," said Italia. Tne party pins hope on Katargam, Varachha Road, Surat North, Karanj, Kamrej and Olpad seats in Surat district for win.
