Surat: A 31-year-old man, who went to buy vegetables, was stabbed by a vendor when an altercation over weight of lemons reached a flashpoint.
Police registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused Gyan Jaiswal who repeatedly stabbed
Imran
Sheikh.
According to police, Imran and his friend Dipak Ghoriya had gone to a market to buy vegetables. They bought some lemons from vendor Jaiswal. There ensued an argument between them that the weight of the lemons was less than what Imran had paid for.
During this argument, Jaiswal, his brother Anand and his another brother attacked Imran and started beating him. Meanwhile, Jaiswal brought out a knife from his cart and stabbed Imran in his stomach, shoulder, back, and both the hands. When people gathered at the spot, the three fled. Ghoriya rushed to the house of Imran’s elder brother
Ismail
and informed him about the incident. Ismail, a native of
Uttar Pradesh, lives at
Madhuvan
society in Chapra Bhatha.
Soon, Ismail and Ghoriya rushed to the spot and found that Imran was badly injured. Imran was taken to a hospital on a two-wheeler. After Ismail filed a complaint, Amroli police registered an offence under relevant sections of IPC including attempt to murder.
