26 arrested for attacking cops in Bardoli

SURAT: At least 26 persons were arrested on Saturday and Sunday for attacking policemen in Umrakh village of Bardoli. The accused had allegedly attacked the cops when they went to raid a bootlegger Arvind Rathod's home on October 23 night.
Majority of the accused are farm labourers and Rathod's friend or relatives .
Police constable Bipin Chhanabhai and a panch witness Satish Chaudhary , suffered serious injuries while four other cops had suffered minor injuries in the attack.
They also helped the bootlegger escape and took away liquor stored in his house.
