Sajjad Lone, others present fresh Art 370 resolution
Srinagar: Peoples Conference chief Sajad Lone and four other MLAs put forth Friday another resolution for restoration of Article 370 and 35A.
Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather said he would take a decision on the matter later. Lone had earlier accused the Omar Abdullah-led National Conference (NC) govt of colluding with BJP and getting the assembly to pass a “watered-down” resolution on revival of special status.
On Friday, Lone stressed that the assembly’s response to the abrogation of Aug 5, 2019, should be “commensurate” with the “wrongs” inflicted that day.
The others who joined Lone in presenting the fresh resolution were PDP’s Waheed Parra and Fayaz Mir, and Independent MLAs Khurshid Sheikh and Shabir Kullay.
Khurshid is the brother of jailed Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid.
