Snowfall in valley, Srinagar freezes at - 1.2c
Following the first snowfall of the season in North Kashmir's Keran sector, Kupwara, the Border Security Force (BSF) has increased patrolling efforts. Srinagar experienced its coldest night of the season, with temperatures plummeting to -1.2 degrees Celsius. Sub-zero temperatures were recorded across most of Kashmir, marking a significant dip in the region's weather.
Maharashtra to see chilly nights this week: IMD predicts below-normal temperatures
Maharashtra residents should brace for chilly nights over the next week, with temperatures dipping 1-2C below normal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts cooler temperatures initially, followed by a potential rise due to a weather system forming near the Bay of Bengal. This system could bring moisture and cloud cover, keeping nighttime temperatures slightly higher.
Srinagar records season's coldest night at minus 1.2 degree Celsius
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, experienced its coldest night of the season, plummeting to minus 1.2 degrees Celsius. Other areas in the valley also faced sub-zero temperatures. Qazigund in south Kashmir recorded minus 1.4 degrees Celsius, while Pahalgam saw a low of minus 2.3 degrees Celsius.
