Delhi car blast: Agencies blow up Red Fort bomber Dr Umar Nabi's Pulwama house

SRINAGAR: Security agencies on Friday blew up the house of Dr Umar Nabi, the Red Fort bomber in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir, officials said.

Investigators said Umar was part of a terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH).




A key foreign handler, Ukasa, acted as the primary link between the Delhi-based module and Pakistan-backed terror networks.



The plot had its origins in Turkey in 2022, where Umar and three associates — all linked to JeM and AGuH — spent time in Ankara.

Initially communicating via Telegram, the group later shifted to encrypted apps like Signal and Session.

“Ukasa guided them on setting up covert cells and avoiding digital footprints,” an officer said.

The module planned a “spectacular” multi-city terror attack involving multiple vehicle-borne IEDs and armed strikes. The group procured three cars — a Hyundai i20, red Ford Ecosport, and Maruti Brezza.

Umar’s i20 was detonated near the Red Fort. The Ecosport was recovered in Faridabad, while the Brezza remains under investigation.

Dr Muzammil, an Al-Falah University doctor and Umar’s close aide, conducted recces of the Red Fort to study security measures. Officials said the attack may have been timed for Republic Day 2026 and Ayodhya’s Ram temple flag hoisting on November 25 was also a potential target.

Over 350 kg of explosives, including ammonium nitrate and traces of RDX, were seized earlier from Faridabad.

Security agencies are now tracing Ukasa’s digital and financial footprint, with foreign intelligence cooperation, to map the full network.
