Central Shalteng, J&K Assembly Election Results 2024: INC's Tariq Hameed Karra defeats Independent candidate Muhammad Irfan Shah by 14,395 votes

NEW DELHI: INC candidate Tariq Hameed Karra has won from Central Shalteng, defeating Independent candidate Muhammad Irfan Shah. Tariq Hameed Karra polled 16687 votes compared to Muhammad Irfan Shah's 4449.

Central Shalteng is one of the 90 Assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, located in northern India. It is part of the Srinagar district and falls under the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency. The seat has a "General" reservation status, meaning it is open to all candidates.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, in the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, the estimated voter turnout in Central Shalteng constituency was 31.84%.
