Shimla: The first Women Scientist Faunal Expedition of the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) was flagged off to Lahaul Valley from Koksar, near the Atal Tunnel on Monday. The Zoological Survey of India director Dr Dhriti Banerjee flagged off the 15-day expedition that will explore the endangered and endemic faunal diversity from an altitude of 2,800m to 5,800m.
The 15-day survey will include far flung valleys (Miyar valley, Udaipur and Ghepan valley, Sissu), passes (Baralacha and Shinkula ) and the fresh water lake of Suraj Tal. TNN
