Dharamshala: Himachal Pradesh chief minister
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu informed the House on Saturday that the state govt would approach the Supreme Court over release of disaster relief funds by the Centre, if talks with the Union Govt yields no results. Sukhu claimed that the Central relief package of around Rs 9,000 crore is pending with the Union govt. “We have been taking up this issue with the Centre ever since Himachal was hit by one of the worst monsoon disasters in 2023. However, the Centre is yet to release disaster relief funds to Himachal Pradesh. We would again raise our demand with the Central govt, and if we still don’t receive the funds, we would knock the door of the Supreme Court,” said Sukhu.
