The Shimla vigilance bureau caught a team of the Himachal Pradesh Waqf Board estate officer accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the office complex of the deputy commissioner Shimla. The accused had come to the deputy commissioner's office to collect the bribe money from the complainant. According to the vigilance bureau officials, a case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act 2018 against Sadiq Mohammad 48, presently posted as estate officer HP Waqf Board. Mohammad had demanded Rs 1 lakh from the complainant in lieu of renewal of lease agreement, rent agreement of the Waqf Board property sources said. When he demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh for the renewal of rent agreement, the victims complained to the vigilance officials.
