5 youths killed as car rolls into ditch in Mandi
Kullu: Five people returning from a marriage function lost their lives when the car they were travelling in plummeted into a deep ditch near Vardhan village in Chauhar valley of Mandi district on Saturday night. The youths -- Rajesh, Gangu, Karan, Sagar and Ajay -- were residents of Dhamchian village of the district. A police officer said the vehicle had rolled down 300 metres into a ditch and was spotted by a shepherd on Sunday morning. The bodies were extricated from the vehicle and brought up to the road with the help of local residents. The officer said the accident seemed to have occurred due to the driver losing control of the vehicle.
