SHIMLA: Burglars targeted the ancestral home of chief minister Virbhadra Singh at Sarahan in Rampur Bushahar on Saturday and decamped with valuables, including 1kg silver table lamp and 4 silver flower pots weighing 250gm each. The opposition BJP took this as an opportunity to take a dig at the law and order situation in the state.
The theft took place at CM's ancestral palace, Shanti Kunj, on Saturday night.

As Virbhadra and his family stay at Holly Lodge in Shimla, the palace is looked after by caretaker Prem Raj, a resident of Ranol village in Rohru tehsil.
Prem Raj came to know about the incident only when he found the main door of the palace and other rooms broken. Then, he found some valuables missing and lodged a complaint at Jhakri police station where a case of theft has been registered against unknown people.
Quick to attack the government for poor law and order situation in the state, BJP state president Satpal Singh Satti said that in a state where even the chief minister's house is not safe, one can imagine the condition of common people.
He said that that in past whenever his party tried to raise the issue of poor law and order, Virbhadra described it as a political stunt.
"Will he describe theft at his own house too as a political stunt," he added.
