PM didn’t give a single penny during natural disaster: Sukhu
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is talking about Himachal in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir elections, but the central govt did not give a single penny during the terrible natural disaster that hit the state last year.
Sukhu was addressing an election rally at Barwala bus stand in the Panchkula assembly constituency of Haryana in favour of Congress candidate Chander Mohan.

He said the BJP leaders are presenting wrong facts by hiding the truth about Himachal, which is going to become self-reliant.
“Big leaders come in elections, talk big, but do not tell the truth. Twenty months ago, the Congress govt was formed in Himachal and in this short tenure, it has fulfilled five out of 10 guarantees,” Sukhu said.
“Congress candidate from Panchkula, Chander Mohan, will win and become a minister in the Haryana govt. He feels the pain of the poor and has respect for farmers, and his father Bhajan Lal has been the chief minister of Haryana,” Sukhu said.
Listing Congress govt’s various achievements in Himachal, Sukhu said that 1.36 lakh employees and officers have been given the benefit of the old pension scheme. He added that those who were getting a pension of Rs 3,000 are now getting Rs 30,000 per month. The Congress govt has also started the scheme for providing Rs 1,500 per month to women, he added.
