DHARAMSHALA: Ahead of the bypoll in this assembly constituency, senior Congress leader and former minister Sudhir Sharma is fighting rumours of his joining the BJP. Sharma is considered as potential Congress candidate from Dharamshala for the upcoming bypoll. “This is no truth in what is being spread. I am not joining BJP. This is a conspiracy against me. These are lies being spread to tarnish my image” he said in a press statement issued on Tuesday.

Two assembly constituencies — Dharamshala and Pachad — will have to go in for bypolls this year as Kishan Kapoor from Dharamshala and Suresh Kashyap from Pachad were elected as MPs in the recent parliamentary elections.

Recently, there were reports of former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal being considered as a potential candidate for the BJP from Dharamshala.

However, Dhumal had refused to issue any comment on this.
