Retired IAS to suggest ways to make HPTDC profitable

Shimla: After the Himachal Pradesh high court last month observed that the state govt’s tourism corporation is in a “shambles” as it is not able to manage properties even at prime locations, state govt on Thursday constituted a one-member committee to examine the corporation’s fiscal situation.
Retired IAS officer Tarun Shridhar’s committee has been tasked to examine the present financial position of HPTDC and suggest remedial measures to bring the corporation in profit. The committee has to submit its recommendations to state govt within six months. “Shridhar while agreeing to head the committee, has expressly refused to accept any financial remuneration whatsoever, including the proposed sitting fee,” reads the order issued on Wednesday.
