P’kot, Pune hikers found dead in Billing
Kullu: Two days after a Pathankot man and a Pune woman went missing in Billing in Kangra district, the police recovered their bodies from a forest on Tuesday. The deceased are Abhinandan Gupta and Pranita.A police officer said the two had gone on a snow hike in the wild near Billing on Sunday. “Prima facie it looks like that their feet slipped on the snow and they suffered injuries and died. The death could also be caused by extreme cold conditions in the area. We have sent the bodies for postmortem to know the exact cause of death,” said the officer. The police had launched a search and rescue operation on Monday after Abhinandan’s friends had got a missing report registered at Bir police station. According to the complaint, Abhinandan along with his friend had gone on a hike, but did not return by evening. Abhinandan’s cell phone was also not reachable. TNN
