SHIMLA: Amid speculations that

Vigilance Bureau

team once again has left for Punjab to gather information about his

alleged properties

there, former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal has attacked chief minister Virbhadra Singh for spreading

false rumour

about his properties in Punjab by misusing the Vigilance Bureau. Dhumal said that whenever Virbhadra Singh was called for questioning in Delhi, issue of his alleged property in Punjab was raised.

“I had demanded CBI probe to investigate my properties as being claimed by some. I am for maintaining honesty in public life. I had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding CBI probe into my properties so that there does not remain any doubt in people’s mind about my properties,” Dhumal said.

He said when CBI has been demanded by him then there is no logic of spreading news about his properties in the media. He said instead of referring his property issue to CBI, the Congress government decided for Vigilance probe which itself raises many questions.

Dhumal said he has declared all his properties in the affidavit filed before the Election Commission while filing nomination papers during last assembly election. “I don’t have any property except what I have declared. I am son of a farmer and soldier and I do not believe living double life like a Raja-Maharaja,” he added.

Without naming Virbhadra Singh, he said some people to save themselves are hatching conspiracy to launch false propaganda against him but all of them would get exposed soon. “Because I have no property which I have not declared publically,’ he said.

Dhumal said he is not afraid of any inquiry. He said under the garb of his alleged properties in Pujab an attempt is being made to malign his image.
