Himachal Pradesh: No Covid shadow on Kullu Dussehra, lakhs set to attend

MANALI: After two years of Covid restrictions, the famous week-long Dussehra of Kullu will be celebrated in the presence of lakhs of people from October 5.
The Kullu administration has already started preparations for this historic event. A meeting was held at Kullu on Friday to start preparations by all the departments in advance. The meeting was chaired by cabinet minister Govind Singh Thakur, who asked officials to start preparations and link the event with “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.” The administration will send invitations to 332 deities of the valley.The International Folk Dance competition too will also be held without restriction where participation of cultural troops from other countries will be ensured.
“This year, Kullu Dussehra will be celebrated with pomp and splendour. There were many restrictions during the last two years and celebrations were curtailed. To ensure the success of the mega event, the Kullu administration has been asked to form different committees for smooth arrangements,” Thakur said. He added that the cultural nights will also be celebrated this year.
