Landslide blocks Manali-Leh h’way near Atal Tunnel

Kullu: The Manali-Leh national highway was blocked near Atal Tunnel due to a landslide on Wednesday morning. An official said the landslide occurred in the morning near Dhundi village, blocking the highway. To avoid traffic jam at Dhundi, the administration stopped all traffic at Solang valley and diverted vehicles through Rohtang Pass till the time the road was cleared. The official said a team of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) immediately started the work to clear the debris and that the highway was restored for traffic by Wednesday afternoon.

Newly constructed road near Mumbai Naka still closed for traffic

In Nashik, traffic congestion has worsened at the Mumbai Naka junction as a newly constructed road beneath the flyover remains unopened. The traffic has surged, especially around the Mumbai Naka police station, following the unveiling of statues of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. Officials plan to open the road after the Navaratra festival.

Badrinath route closed due to landslides; authorities create by-pass

Heavy landslides near Nandprayag in Chamoli district halted movement on the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway for several hours. Authorities cleared a bypass to restore traffic by evening, adding an hour to travel time. Efforts to clear debris continue, with the road expected to be operational by Friday. Meanwhile, the weather is expected to clear by September 29.

Wayanad Samithi urges Union govt to block twin tunnel project
