Shimla: Stressing on ‘human values’ in the educational system to ensure overall development of students, Himachal Pradesh governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said on Saturday that special emphasis has been laid on the overall development of the students in the National Education Policy-2020, which has relevant provisions.
Shukla was addressing as the chief guest in a one-day leadership development programme on universal human values at Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur. He added that all educationists and concerned officials should understand the basic spirit of the National Education Policy-2020 and they should work towards its implementation.
Ideal leadership could be developed for the country and society only by instilling Indian values in the students, he added. “Due to human values and sanskars in Indian civilization, ideal leadership in the form of Ram, Krishna, Buddha and many other great men developed naturally in different periods, which are still great ideals for us”, said the governor.
Shukla also said that in the present perspective, employment oriented education was also required, but by maintaining a balance between morality and practicality, we could create a better future for the new generation.
