HP signs multiple MoUs with UAE Cos
Shimla: After signing several MoUs with different entrepreneurs in United Arab Emirate (UAE), Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, while addressing members of People of Indian Origin Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Dubai on Tuesday, asked the Indian diaspora there to take into consideration the advantageous environment of the state for investment.
While inviting the potential entrepreneurs for the Global Investors Meet slated at Dharamshala in November this year, Thakur said the meet would focus on a wide range of upcoming and thriving sectors like tourism, AYUSH and wellness, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, real estate, hydropower, agro and food processing.
The CM held a meeting with secretary general of ministry of economy, UAE, Jamal Al Jarwan at Dubai and apprised him of immense investment potential available in the state in various sectors like food processing, logistics, tourism and power etc. Jamal said UAE was looking at India for investment in food processing, logistics and infrastructure.
Thakur also met chief executive officer Jafza and DP World Mohammed Al Muallem who said his group aimed to invest in Himachal Pradesh particularly in the areas of logistics and transportation besides export and import of agriculture and horticulture produce.
A MoU was signed with MKS Group for investment in naturopathy resort worth Rs 100 crore and another for affordable housing worth Rs 150 crore. Another MoU was signed with UAE India Business Council for highlighting investment opportunities and facilitating UAE investments in Himachal Pradesh.
Yet another MoU was signed with executive chairman and CEO, IMEA-TIFF and executive chairman and CEO DMCC Ahmed Bin Sulayem to strengthen and expand existing capacities in agriculture and food sector. Mutual cooperation, bilateral delegations, bilateral trade and investments are some of the activities that would be part of the MoU.
The HP Delegation also held a meeting with CEO Nilgiri Trading Chandershekhar Bhatia. A MoU was signed with Nomisma, Banking and Financial Advisory, Nilgiri Trading for development of luxury resort with prime focus on destination wedding for an amount of Rs 1,000 crore.
