Winter session: DC reviews preparations

Dharamshala: Kangra deputy commissioner Hemraj Bairwa on Saturday reviewed the preparations for the upcoming winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan SabhaThe winter session is scheduled to be held at the Tapovan premises in Dharamshala from Dec 18 to 21. The DC instructed officials from the jal shakti and power departments to ensure seamless drinking water supply and uninterrupted electricity services during the session, a statement issued here said. DC Bairwa said a detailed security plan is being prepared by the police and instructions were also given to the health department to make necessary arrangements at the vidhan sabha premises, zonal hospital, Dharamshala, and Tanda Medical College. Bidari sets 8-day deadline for winter session preparations

Nagpur's Vidhan Bhavan and related facilities are undergoing renovations and repairs in preparation for Maharashtra legislature's winter session. Divisional Commissioner Vijaylakshmi Bidari set an 8-day deadline for completion and instructed departments to ensure smooth operations, emergency preparedness, and infrastructure readiness. Over a thousand vehicles will be used, with regular inspections for all activities to commence.

City cops initiate security planning for winter assembly session

Nagpur police commence preparations for the upcoming winter assembly session, chaired by commissioner Ravinder Singal. Around 3,000 police personnel and seven SRPF companies were summoned last year. DCP Shweta Khedkar presented last year's security blueprint. Traffic DCP Archit Chandak suggested wrapping up protests by 6pm and implementing measures to decongest key junctions for smoother traffic flow.

Winter session of Bihar legislature like to be stormy

The five-day winter session of the Bihar legislature starting Monday is expected to be contentious with the opposition focusing on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, Adani's company issues, law and order, and farmer problems. Assembly Speaker has urged timely department responses, as the JD(U) anticipates opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav may skip the session.
