HP to fill 900 vacant posts in cooperative dept: Dy CM

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Mukesh Agnihotri said on Wednesday that the state govt would soon come up with a strategy to fill nearly 900 vacant posts in the cooperative department.He added that the state govt had released the budget for computerisation of 1,789 cooperative societies, to increase their efficiency. Attending a state-level conference on ‘Cooperatives Create a Better Future for All’ organised at the State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute, Mashobra, the deputy CM said in the first phase, 870 primary agricultural credit societies (PACS) have been computerised across the state, while for the second phase, 919 PACS have been selected. Agnihotri said as on date, nearly Rs 4,500 crore of the state is deposited in the cooperative sector. tnn

Maharashtra govt formation: Sena keen on home, NCP wants finance, cooperation & agriculture

Devendra Fadnavis met with Eknath Shinde to finalize power-sharing in Maharashtra's new government. Shinde agreed to be Deputy CM, pending a fair portfolio allocation. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched a series of initiatives to bolster sports in the state. Medal winners of the Khel Mahakumbh will now get a 4% reservation in government jobs. A new sports development fund was announced, along with scholarships for young athletes.

Belagavi girl wins gold at state-level shooting competition

Manjiri T Jibi, a student of St. Joseph's High School, Belagavi, clinched gold in the 10m air pistol shooting at the state-level school sports meet in Bengaluru. Scoring an impressive 355/400, she earned a spot in the national competition scheduled for December 19-24 in Indore.
