DHARAMSHALA: While the world is celebrating mother’s day amid the
Covid-19 pandemic
, a "brave" mother who is
Covid-19
negative in Chamba district has isolated herself from her two-year-old baby girl who was tested positive for coronavirus.
The mother had requested the authorities to stay with her child in
Covid care center
. The repeated requests of the mother have forced administration to allow the mother along with the child. Both have been kept in the
Ayurvedic hospital
at Chamba which has converted into Covid care center. Baby girl was tested positive for virus on Friday this week.
Mother has exposed herself to the risk of virus. Her sacrifice remained a topic of discussion in the region on Mother’s day. The word about the sacrifice of the mother had gone around. People were applauding the lady’s move that has exemplified the motherhood on this day.
Rajesh Guleri, chief medical officer at Chamba talking to TOI, confirmed that both mother and child have been kept in center following all safety measures. "The baby girl is also suffering from heart ailment that is also being considered for treatment later. We are taking proper care and I had gone myself to provide every necessary item to the baby girl", he added.
Deputy commissioner at Chamba,
Vivek Bhatia
said that everyone is concerned about this girl and they will leave no stone un-turned to provide best care to the girl for her early recovery from this virus.
Father of the baby girl, who was truck driver by profession, was also tested positive recently. The number of patients found positive for Ccvid-19 has crossed the mark of 50 in
Himachal Pradesh
.
In another incident that happened this month in state, the mother of a 21-year-old son who died of coronavirus was also tested positive this week. The mother has accompanied her son during his treatment at Delhi for renal failure, and later, moved to Indira Gandhi Medical College at Shimla.
The 47-year-old woman was quarantined since her son's death and was found positive later.
