Himachal Pradesh: BJP to act against leaders who worked against party in elections

SHIMLA: After failing to stop the rebellion in assembly elections on over a dozen seats, now the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can take strict action against the rebels and others who have worked against the interest of the party in the elections.
Before acting, the party leadership is waiting for the feedback of the contesting candidates.
A review meeting with the candidates can be held in Shimla on December 4.
Although not finalized yet, after this meeting, the party can take major action regarding the sabotage.
BJP sources say that it is not necessary to wait for the counting of votes for this action.
At present, majority of senior leaders from the state, including chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, are busy with campaigning in Delhi and Gujarat and are expected to return by December 2 after which crucial meeting would be held to take decision on the rebels and others involved in anti party activities, sources said.
BJP had launched its election campaign with the slogan of "Mission Repeat" but now presence of rebels on around 17 seats has left the party leadership worried and if this was not enough some leaders while remaining within the party have also worked against the official candidates.
Party sources said that audio clips and through other sources it had come to light that some leaders had worked against the party while remaining within the BJP while some others had openly revolted and now all such leaders would face action in coming days.
If the election results are not favourable in Himachal, then major action is possible. A separate report is being prepared in this regard even at the level of party officials. Central leaders who were appointed in charge of Himachal have also been asked to give feedback, they added.
To take the feedback about the polling in favour of party in all 68 assembly constituencies of Himachal Pradesh and to discuss its post poll strategy, the election management committee of BJP had held its meeting at Parwanoo in Solan district on November 20 that was attended by chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, state president Suresh Kashyap and other senior leaders.
In the meeting, information was also taken about the booth level voting in 68 assembly constituencies and after the meeting, it was claimed that the BJP is forming the government again in the state.
