State govt will ensure 80% jobs in pvt units for Himachalis: Min
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh industries minister Harshwardhan Chauhan Friday said the state govt is working towards ensuring that at least 80% of jobs in all private industrial, power and tourism units in the state goes to Himachalis.
“Various welfare schemes are also being implemented by the state govt for the benefit of the youth, one such being the skill development allowance. Under this scheme, about Rs 22.90 crore has been provided to 51,587 youths of the state to date. Similarly, Rs 16.83 crore has been provided to 18,404 beneficiaries of the unemployment allowance scheme so far this fiscal,” Chauhan said after a meeting with the labour and employment dept.
He also expressed satisfaction with the digitisation of 100% employment exchanges of the state, saying now registration and renewal can be done online.
Private employers can upload the details of vacancies arising in their organisations online on the ‘eemis’ portal. About 567 private firms have registered themselves on this portal so far, the minister said.
He directed the dept to ensure the implementation of labour laws and said various reforms have been made to enhance the ease of doing business in the state. To ensure time-bound delivery of various services to the citizens, 13 services have been covered under HP Public Service Guarantee Act 2011, he added.
