Vajpayee residence Himachal guv’s 1st stop on Manali visit

Kullu: Himachal Pradesh governor Shiv Pratap Shukla visited the residence of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Preeni in Manali on Monday.Shukla is on a four-day visit to Kullu. On Day I, he spent some time on the premises of Vajpayee and recalled fond memories of the times spent with him. He was accompanied by his wife and first lady, Janaki Shukla. Remembering Vajpayee, the governor said, “He had great affection for Himachal and its people and considered the state as his second home. He wrote many poems in the peaceful environment of Preeni.” The governor also visited the Roerich Art Gallery, Naggar Castle and the Kais monastery. Secretary to the governor, CP Verma, and district officials were also present on the occasion.
