CM discusses border & infra with Rajnath

Shimla: Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Friday met defence minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi to discuss a range of issues pertaining to people living in border areas. He also spoke about the need to strengthen road infrastructure in these areas, especially on the routes that are of strategic importance. The defence minister assured him of full cooperation in this regard, he said. Meanwhile, the CM also visited the site of the 5-storey Himachal Niketan in Dwarka Thursday and inspected the ongoing work. tnn

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh urged the private sector to take the lead in defence innovation and R&D. Emphasizing modern warfare's evolving nature, he highlighted government efforts to support technology development through DRDO's funding schemes. Since its inception, the technology development fund has backed 79 projects, with 18 successfully reaching technological advancement, Singh noted.
