Sukhu seeks spl industrial package

Shimla: Himachal chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu met Union minister for commerce and industry Piyush Goyal in New Delhi on Thursday, and requested for a special industrial package for the hill state on the lines of Jammu and Kashmir and northeastern states. In order to ensure balanced regional development, it is the need of the hour that a special industrial package on the lines of Jammu and Kashmir and northeastern states is provided to Himachal Pradesh, said the chief minister.
Sukhu also urged to restart the previous transport subsidy scheme for hilly areas like Himachal Pradesh keeping in view high logistic cost due to rugged terrain. The chief minister also requested the Union minister to provide funds for industrial infrastructure development projects and quality testing labs.
CM calls meet over Bhota hospital issue
Amid the ongoing protests against the decision to close the operations of Radha Soami Satsang Beas Trust’s charitable hospital in Hamirpur’s Bhota, CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has called a meeting on Dec 1 at his official residence to discuss the issue. Those who would be attending the meeting include the advocate general and additional chief secretary of revenue.
