DEHRA (DHARAMSHALA): Chief minister
Jairam Thakur during his tour to Dehra constituency of Kangra district on Wednesday, pulled administration of a government college that ignored Union minister
Anurag Thakur in one of his functions.
Dehra tour was the part of winter sojourn of the chief minister. He was accompanied by his cabinet colleagues, MLAs and Union minister of state Anurag Thakur on this tour.
During his visit to government Degree College at
Dhaliara
in this constituency, the administration during the welcome speech took the names of chief minister, minister and MLAs. At last they addressed Anurag Thakur.
This irked the chief minister who pulled up the officials for this.
"I don’t like this that Anurag Thakur is here and you (college administration) not took his name according to the protocol. These things should be considered as he is a four time MP and a Union minister", said Jairam Thakur during his address.
College administration raised demand for administrative block and other things for the college during CM’s visit. Administration said that college is working in field of education since 1984. Their demands for administrative and academic block were accepted.
Few days back a video had gone viral on social media showing Anurag Thakur greeting state party president Rajeev Bindal and ignoring a handshake with chief minister Jairam Thakur at a party function in
Shimla
. This has fueled various rumors in political circles of
Himachal Pradesh
. But CM's gesture today has cleared the air to some extent.
