CM orders spl drive to settle pending revenue cases in Himachal

Kullu: CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Tuesday asked his officials to start a special drive to settle pending revenue cases.
During a review meeting of the revenue department, Sukhu said pending cases were being settled through revenue lok adalats but there was a need to expedite the process.
The govt is committed to providing facilities on people’s doorsteps, the CM said as he directed the divisional and deputy commissioners to clear the backlog of cases related to corrections by Oct 31.
He asked the deputy commissioners to deploy a nodal officer in their districts to review the revenue matters and send a report to the govt. Sukhu said for the settlement of revenue matters, the DCs had been given powers to fill the vacant posts up to naib tehsildar for which an adequate budget would be allocated.tnn
