Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed his ministers to ensure that the programmes and schemes started by the state govt reach every eligible beneficiary, especially those in the remote areas. Chairing a review meeting to assess the performance of various departments on Monday, Sukhu said he was personally monitoring the implementation of the flagship schemes and ensuring the intended support reached to all those in need. In a step to promote good governance, the state govt has launched the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme in the state, said Sukhu, adding that the initiative was designed to bring govt services closer to the people in the rural and remote regions of the state. Through this initiative, citizens’ concerns could be addressed within their communities. tnn
