Engagement of 2,061 Van Mitras gets Himachal cabinet approval

Shimla: The state council of ministers led by CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in a meeting held Tuesday accorded approval for the engagement of 2,061 Van Mitras in the forest dept by eliminating the 10-mark personal interview criterion.
A decision was also taken to create and fill 150 posts of nurses besides 10 posts of assistant professors in depts of general medicine, paediatrics, general surgery, orthopaedics, anaesthesia, and radiology in Dr Radhakrishnan Govt Medical College and Hospital, Hamirpur.
The state cabinet also gave its approval to amend the Eco-Tourism Policy, 2017 so as to align it with the recent amendments in the Forest Conservation Act (FCA) 2023 to promote and develop eco-tourism activities across the state.
The council of ministers also sanctioned the opening of a new subdivisional police officer’s office at Nadaun in Hamirpur district with the creation and filling up of five posts across various categories. Approval has also been accorded for the establishment of a new fire post at Indora in Kangra district with 13 posts to be created and filled up in various categories. The establishment of a new police post at Shinkula under Keylong PS in Lahaul-Spiti district, along with the creation and filling of six posts in various categories, has also been approved.
