CM Sukhu lays stone for Hamirpurmedical college’s auditorium

Kullu: Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the auditorium of Dr Radhakrishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur, on the new campus in Jol Sapper, located in Nadaun assembly constituency of Hamirpur district.The auditorium will be constructed at a cost of Rs 37 crore. The CM also laid the foundation stone for the principal’s residence at the college, and inspected the ongoing construction work of the medical college. He said it is targeted to complete the construction of the medical college by March 31, 2026.He said the medical college was sanctioned by the UPA-II govt on March 4, 2014, after he personally requested the then Union health minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad. While the Union govt has allocated only Rs 180 crore for the project, the current state govt has already disbursed Rs 240 crore. He added that the new campus would encompass world-class facilities, state-of-the-art medical equipment and skilled doctors and paramedical staff, ensuring advanced healthcare for the people of the state. tnn

Power shutdown at Ekm medical college for generator installation on Sunday

Ernakulam Government Medical College will experience a brief power shutdown on Sunday due to the installation of a new 750 KW generator, managed by the PWD electrical wing. Temporary generators are in place to ensure service continuity. Nearby hospitals and the public have been advised to use the college's services only for critical cases during this period.
