Flight lands in Himachal after 60 days with 33 passengers

After 60 days, the airport at this hill destination came alive with the movement of taxis and passengers amid tight security. In a 70 seater aircraft, only 33 passengers arrived. The luggage, gadgets and passengers were sanitized at the airport before they left to their destinations. District administration had a detailed meeting with airport authorities before the arrival of this flight for taking safety measures in view of Covid-19 spread.

DHARAMSHALA: Dharamshala airport on Monday came alive with the movement of taxis and passengers amid tight security, after 60 days of lockdown. In a 70 seater aircraft, only 33 passengers arrived. The luggage, gadgets and passengers were sanitised at the airport before they left to their destinations.
District administration had a detailed meeting with airport authorities before the arrival of this flight for taking safety measures in view of Covid-19 spread.

Kangra airport is the busiest airport of Himahcal Pradesh that gets three to four regular flights from Delhi. There were no activities from last two months. Today, NGOs, security personals, health officials were placed at different counters of the airport.
People were asked about their travel history. Few of them were quarantined at their homes while others at institutional quarantine. Deputy commissioner of Kangra, Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, said that arrangements were made and the people coming from red zones were arranged a quarantine facility at Pong dam area in Kangra district.
The active cases in Himachal Pradesh have crossed the mark of 140 and it is increasing gradually. In Kangra district, the test results of four patients, who earlier tested positive, came negative. All four wered discharged from the hospital and asked to quarantine themselves at their homes.
It is expected that three flights will start operating daily at this airport.
