SHIMLA: A Covid-19 positive patient died of trauma in Shimla on Sunday morning. Health department officials said that Sunday’s death of Covid-19 positive patient in Shimla was due to unrelated cause of trauma, so total count will remain unchanged at 6 only. In the state, 16 more persons including five of a family from Bilaspur district, 4 from Kangra district, 3 from Una district, 2 from Shimla and one each from Solan and Chamba have tested positive, while 17 patients have also recovered including six from Kangra district.
Now, Himachal Pradesh has total 518 positive cases, of which, 174 are active, 11 have migrated out of state, 326 have recovered and 6 have died.
A 19-year-old man from Okhla in Delhi who had arrived in Shimla died of Covid-19 on Sunday morning at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital Shimla. He tested positive on Saturday and was brought to medical college in critical condition and expired shortly after reaching there. His one primary contact has also tested positive for Covid-19.
In Bilaspur district five positive cases from family have been reported positive and they had returned from Delhi to Ghumarwin on May 31 and were in institutional quarantine. Those tested positive includes a 60-year-old male, a 39-year-old male, a 34-year-old female, 10-year-old male and two 2-year-old boy. One member of family was tested positive earlier after which their samples were taken 5 days back and was tested negative but when repeat samples were taken they were tested positive. Now all of them are being shifted to Dedicated Covid Care Centre at Chandpur.
Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Prajapti said that in Kangra district, a 62-year-old male and his 60-year-old wife from Bathalthor who had returned from Delhi on June 6 and were quarantined at Zonal Hospital Dharamshala since Saturday have been tested positive.
He said that another 27-year-old woman from Passu who had also returned from Delhi on June 6 have been tested positive and she is being shifted to Dedicated Covid Care Centre at Dadh. A 25-year-old female from Bhanuri who had arrived from Gurugram on June 2 has been tested positive for Covid-19 and is being admitted in Covid care Centre Baijnath.
He said that in the district six positive patients have also recovered including a 17-year-old male from Sagoor, a 35-year-old manfrom Baijnath, a 49-year-old female from
Mandhol, Baijnath, a 27-year-old male from Talson, Baijnath and a 47-yr-old man and his 9 years old son from Nurpur have been tested negative on follow up tests and are being discharged from Covid care Centre Baijnath to home with an advise of home isolation for next 7 days.
A total of 48886 persons were put under surveillance in the state till Sunday, of them 30,146 have completed their 28 days of surveillance, while 18470 are under active surveillance. So far 53,946 persons have been tested for Covid-19, of which 52,458 have been tested negative while results of 974 samples were awaited.
