BJP disregarding public opinion, claims Cong

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president and former MP Pratibha Singh on Tuesday criticised the state BJP leadership for “insulting the public opinion” in the hill state.
The former MP said the people of Himachal had chosen the govt by giving an absolute majority to the Congress party. “Any protest by the BJP against the Congress govt is an insult to the public opinion of the people of Himachal Pradesh,” said Pratibha.
She said the Congress govt in its two-year tenure fulfilled five guarantees that the party had extended to the people of Himachal during the election campaign. The remaining guarantees will also be fulfilled in a phased manner, said the senior leader.
She also emphasised that the Wednesday’s rally at Bilaspur would be historic. In this rally, the Congress govt will reveal its achievements during its two-year tenure to the public. Besides this, the outline of the upcoming works will also be presented, said the HPCC chief.
Pratibha said the BJP was not happy with the development of Himachal Pradesh and was trying “unsuccessfully to mislead the people” of the state. TNN
