‘Cong working to drown HP in debt’

Shimla: Union minister Anurag Thakur on Thursday took on the Himachal government over rising loans, and claimed that the Congress government has taken loans of Rs 40 crore daily. “Loans worth Rs 6,000 crores has been taken in the last five months. The Congress party in Himachal Pradesh is working to drown the state in debt, while its MLAs are celebrating birthdays somewhere and the ministers are roaming abroad,” Thakur said. Thakur, while addressing mediapersons in Shimla, on Thursday said that no one in Congress is ready to meet the public. “As soon as this government was formed, there was a free hand to loot. People are feeling cheated today, and they are going to teach a lesson to the Congress by voting against the ruling party in Shimla Municipal Corporation election,” he said. tnn
