‘No money to pay salaries, what is there to celebrate?’

Shimla: BJP’s national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia on Tuesday questioned Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led govt’s decision to celebrate its 2-year term, stating that the state govt has not fulfilled any pre-poll promises.Bhatia, accompanied by state BJP president Dr Rajeev Bindal, said that the Sukhu government has become synonymous with breaking promises, and law and order is also in shambles. Raising questions on the financial condition of the state, Bhatia said that the state govt is not able to pay salaries to its employees on time, but on the other hand, the chief minister is leaving no stone unturned to make his “relatives and friends” happy.The BJP leader said that the earlier Jairam Thakur-led govt had opened 1,500 institutions for providing facilities to the public, but they were closed by the Congress govt. “Himcare Yojana, which was opened on the lines of Ayushman Bharat Yojana, under which 292 hospitals were registered, has also been closed, and the Congress govt did not introduce any scheme in place of it,” claimed Bhatia. “We call this celebration ‘Jashn-E-Barbadi,’” said the BJP leader.
