BJP says Cong spent ₹25cr to mark 2 yrs with no achievements to show
Shimla: Leader of opposition Jairam Thakur on Thursday alleged that the Congress govt in Himachal Pradesh spent almost Rs 25 crore to celebrate the completion of its two years in the state, despite having no notable achievements to present. An event was held in Bilaspur on Wednesday to mark these two years of chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led govt in the state.
He said instead of speaking about irrelevant matters, the govt should respond to the opposition’s questions and the corruption allegations against it submitted with proper documentation in the dossier to the governor. “The govt should come forward to investigate these matters and punish those responsible, else it will be assumed that everything is happening with the govt’s backing,” he added, while addressing the mediapersons. He said the “insulting language” used by the state Congress in-charge Rajeev Shukla would not be tolerated by the BJP, and therefore, he should publicly apologise.
Commenting on the Congress’s event at Bilaspur, the BJP leader said the Congress is divided into several factions and groups that it is unmatched. “Every leader wanted to showcase their strength from the rally stage. The govt spent money, time, and resources just to criticise the opposition,” added Thakur.
