In HP, 282 hosps empaneled under Ayushman Bharat

Kullu: A total 282 govt and private hospitals are empaneled under the Ayushman Bharat — Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB-PMJAY) in Himachal Pradesh, with the highest 58 in Kangra district of the state.
In a reply to a question asked by Kangra BJP MP RajIv Bharadwaj in the ongoing winter session of the Lok Sabha, the Union government has stated that till Oct 31, 2024, a total of 13,39,890 Ayushman cards had been made and 3.06 lakh people treated at a cost of Rs 408.38 crore.
According to the Union government, out of the 282 hospitals, 157 are private and 125 government.
In the state, Kangra has the highest 58 empaneled hospitals, followed by 43 in Mandi, 32 each in Solan and Una and 23 in Shimla district.
As per the govt reply, Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti are the only districts having no private hospital empaneled under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Both these districts also have the lowest number of hospitals (six each) empaneled under the scheme.
A total 29,870 hospitals of the country, including 13,173 private hospitals, fall under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, states the government reply.
The government reply states that “the treatment packages under the AB-PMJAY are comprehensive and include pre-hospitalization as well as post-hospitalization expenses.”

However, no private hospitals in the district are currently registered under the scheme. Beneficiaries can utilize the well-equipped Kodagu District Hospital.

Display med service rates, city private hospitals ordered

Bhopal's private hospitals are now required to publicly display their rate lists for all medical services, as mandated by CMHO Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari. This move aims to increase transparency and protect patient rights. Hospitals must also notify the CMHO of any price adjustments.
