3 suspended for consuming cannabis on duty at govt hospital near Dharamshala

and fell unconscious on duty on Monday late night. The medical college is second largest institute, catering to thousands of patients daily, after IGMC at

Shimla

.


The patients were kept awaiting for their medical tests reports. Later, they started recording videos and clicked photographs showing lab assistants not in their senses. The pictures went viral on social media prompting the medical authorities to take action against these employees.

Principal of the medical college, Dr Bhanu Awasthi said they have received the reports of the employees consuming cannabis on duty and falling unconscious. “All three of them have been suspended,” he said.

There is a tradition of consuming cannabis on Shivratri. The employees had consumed some snacks made of cannabis following the Shivratri celebrations. All of them were on duty at the medical testing lab where they fell unconscious.

The video of the incident went viral also showing a woman sitting under the table in the lab while other three male employees were seen in unconscious state.
