Woman among 3 ‘drug dealers’ held in Shillong
Shillong: Three suspected drug dealers, including a 50-year-old woman, have been arrested in the city, reports Manosh Das.A statement issued by SP (East Khasi Hills) Sylvester Nongtnger said the woman, identified as Aisha Khatoon alias Pahari, was caught at Jhalupara during a joint operation by the anti-narotics task force of the district, along with Lumdiengjri police station and Jhalupara outpost.The items recovered and seized during the operation were 73 vials containing suspected heroin, weighing 9.72 grams, four mobile phones and Rs 27,410 in cash, the police said, adding that a criminal case has been registered in this connection.On the other hand, police also arrested two persons under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PITNDPS) Act, 1988 on Wednesday. They have been identified as Hubert Lamphrang Palar (22) from West Khasi Hills and Pynhoi Nongtdu (30) from West Jaintia Hills.PITNDPS is used against habitual offenders and the accused can be detained for three months to two years.We also published the following articles recently
