Two killed at Ichamati in Meghalaya

Shillong: Two persons were killed at Ichamati under Shella constituency in East Khasi Hills after a group held a meeting in the area on Wednesday.
East Khasi Hills superintendent of police Rituraj Ravi said the bodies of Esan Sing and Sujit Dutta were recovered at Ichamati and Dalda, respectively.
“Police teams are deployed at the crime sites,” the SP added.
Earlier, East Khasi Hills deputy commissioner S C Sadhu said a magistrate is camping in the area. He added that a magisterial inquiry will be ordered to ascertain the cause of the incident.
According to reports, a public gathering was held at Ichamati by a pressure group to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
