Shillong:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday distributed more than 1 lakh appointment letters to newly inducted recruits via video-link, of which 48 candidates were from Meghalaya. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister underlined that the campaign to provide job opportunities to the youth in the Government of India is continuing in full swing.
Pointing out that the long time spent between the job notification and handing out appointment letters led to an increase in bribery, the PM stated that the present government has made the entire process transparent while also completing the recruitment process within the stipulated time.
Union MoS for education, Dr Subhas Sarkar, joined the Rozgar Mela in Shillong where he distributed appointment letters to the new recruits following the PM’s address.
In Shillong, appointment certificates were handed over to 48 candidates belonging to North Eastern Hill University, North Eastern Police Academy, Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, NEEPCO, NEIGRIHMS, and department of posts.
Highlighting that the Rozgar Mela is a significant addition to the various initiatives of the Centre, Sarkar said the mission mode recruitment drive is expected to result in the filling up of 10 lakh jobs and it is also expected to lead to the creation of additional employment in private and public sectors.
“I would also like to add that the department of personnel and training (DoP&T) had launched a mobile application of iGOT Karmayogi Portal, which would make it easy to access the Karmayogi Portal’, the minister added.
