Shillong: A tribal woman from Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district, who has helped form over 50 self-help groups, caught the attention of
PM Modi during his interaction with beneficiaries of Viksit Bharat SankalpYatra via video-link on Thursday. He had special words of praise for Silme Marak, calling her “Modi of her village”.
“Dedication of people like you is the strength behind our resolution to take benefits of government schemes to every citizen.
Aap jaise logon se mera kaam bahut asaan ho jata hai. Aap hi gaon ki Modi ho (People like you make my job very easy. You are the Modi of your village),” the PM said to Marak. She was among thousands of VBSY beneficiaries from across the country who joined the event and interacted with the PM.
