Shillong: On his final days in office, outgoing Meghalaya governor Phagu Chauhan participated in a tree plantation ceremony at the Raj Bhavan in Shillong on Sunday, reports Manosh Das. “During the ceremony, he planted an ‘amla’ sapling, symbolising his lasting legacy and dedication to the state,” a Raj Bhavan communique said. “An ‘amla’ sapling was also planted in honour of the first lady, Murahi Devi, who joined the ceremony virtually,” the statement added.
