, will organise several events.

Dylan's Cafe will organize a live music show and poetry programme entitled 'Dylan at 76' from 6pm onwards on Wednesday.

The programme is to pay tribute to Blowin' In the wind star's music with performance by different artistes.

Cafe Shillong, Laitumkhrah will host a poetry slam at 2 pm besides an evening concert which will be held at Cloud 9, Hotel Centre Point from 8 pm onwards.

The celebration won't be anything out of the ordinary for the residents of the country's rock capital. Every year, the city celebrates

Dylan

's birthday on May 24.

The tradition goes back to 1972, when the first such celebration took place with an audience of 30-40 people. There has been no looking back since. For over four decades without a break, the city has been celebrating Dylan's birthday.

This will also be the 45th year that Lou Majaw will mark the birthday celebration of the American music legend, with various shows planned in Shillong on May 24 as well as Guwahati the following day.
