Miscreants lob ‘petrol bomb’ at Meghalaya deputy CM Sniawbhalang Dhar’s house, none hurt
SP (East Khasi Hills) Rituraj Ravi told media persons security has been provided at the residences of all VIPs and vital installations following the second such incident this week.
“We are still investigating what was the nature of the object or whether it was a petrol bomb. We will update once further details emerge on this,” the SP said after visiting the deputy CM’s residence to take stock of the situation.
The SP further said the sale of loose petrol in East Khasi Hills district is prohibited since the order to impose Section 114 CrPC issued by the deputy commissioner is still in operation.
“However, in the light of these events, we are taking further measures to strengthen security. We are alert and all the investigations are being done in a thorough and professional manner. We are confident and hopeful that all the perpetrators of the crime would be brought to justice,” Ravi said.
He appealed to the citizens not to take law into their own hands and to cooperate with police in investigation.
