Militant outfit issues death threat to MLA over decision to shut down cement firm
The government had recently requested all employees of the firm to consider taking the golden handshake or voluntary retirement scheme, as investments over the past 15 years had not yielded results.
HNLC general secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw said on Friday, “If the government proceeds with the shutdown of MCCL, it will be appropriate for Gavin to assume responsibility. Just as you and your government dare to bury MCCL alive, we will hold you accountable through our own actions. Traitors of the people should be punished with death.” The HNLC also accused the state government of promoting the development of cement factories owned by non-tribals from other states.

PM Narendra Modi emphasized good governance as the identity of his government, committed to last-mile delivery and ensuring citizens do not need to run for basic facilities. Speaking on the birth anniversary of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, he released the first series of Collected Works of Malaviya and paid tribute to him. Modi wished everyone Merry Christmas and highlighted the celebrations of Atal Jayanti and Good Governance Day. He mentioned the impact of Modi Ki Guarantee, the distribution of Ayushman cards, and scam-free governance. The PM also discussed the Aspirational District program and the Vibrant Village Scheme.
